In our ongoing efforts to promote a clean and green environment, we wish to inform you about a recent successful drive to implement a ban on single-use plastic conducted near the Kokrajhar municipality area. This drive, supported by the District Administration and Kokrajhar Police, resulted in the seizure of approximately 350 kilograms of single-use plastic items. A total fine of approximately Rs 51,000 was imposed as part of enforcing the ban on single-use plastics having thickness of less than 120 microns which was in effect from December 31, 2022. We urge all citizens to join us in this initiative by avoiding the use of single-use plastics, particularly those with a thickness of less than 120 microns. These actions are crucial to protect our environment and to ensure the sustainability of our region. Remember, each one of us is an ambassador for Kokrajhar, and our collective efforts can make a significant impact in preserving our surroundings.
